Talk To Your Kids About Alcohol

Posted Tuesday, April 15th 2014 @ 10am

April is Alcohol Awareness Month and the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division looks at the research and trends in the marketplace.

Shannon Pogones, with the ABD says the numbers are growing larger every year.

She says the important thing is to talk to your kids about drinking responsibly - and to begin when they're little.

They have resources including tips and talking points on their website and you can access it right here.
Underage drinking is an ongoing problem here in Iowa and across the nation, as avoidable alcohol-related tragedies continue to take their toll on youth and society.

She stresses the need to start early and to keep the conversation open as they grow; that you know where they are, to have a plan and to make sure that they can call you without a hassle.
