The Salisbury House Foundation is pleased to announce plans for the 10th Annual Gatsby Gala: Tomb of Tut-Ankh-Amen Edition. The annual fundraising event for the foundation will be held on Saturday, September 6th from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm on the Salisbury House terrace.
While continuing to pay homage to the Gatsby era of the Roaring Twenties when Salisbury House was built (1923-1928), we do so this year by commemorating a bestselling book from the 1920’s era, The Tomb of Tut-Ankh-Amen. A first edition copy of this book by Howard Carter book is shelved within the Salisbury House Library, home to the rare and valuable book collection that Carl and Edith Weeks amassed during their residence at Salisbury House.
Gatsby Gala: Tomb of Tut-Ankh-Amen Edition will feature Egyptian-inspired décor, a scotch tasting by Vom Fass, a Hookah Lounge and an Egyptian marketplace. Guests will enjoy live music by The Sons of Gladys Kravitz, delectable food, libations, dancing and atmosphere galore. Egyptian-inspired costumes, 1920’s era garb or cocktail attire is encouraged. A hair stylist and makeup artist will be on site for those who wish to enhance their appearance after they arrive. Tickets are $150 per adult. Tickets for young professionals age 21-35 are $100.
