West Des Moines Apartment Fire Leaves Families Homeless

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa-- 10 families are looking for shelter after a West Des Moines apartment fire. The West Des Moines Fire Department says the fire, in a building in the Washington Heights apartment complex was reported at about 4:30 Tuesday afternoon, and took about an hour to bring under control. No one was injured, and pets who were also living the in the apartment made it out safely. The Department says a large number of families were displaced after water and electricity to the building was cut off. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
