(Des Moines, Iowa) Iowa's corn and soybean crops are progressing toward harvest. The latest USDA crop report finds 60-percent of the corn crop is good-to-excellent.

Iowa Agriculture Secretary Bill Northey 76 percent of the corn crop has reached dent stage or beyond, which is three days behind the five year average.
Forty-seven percent of soybeans are turning color, one day behind average.
The report notes the dry conditions continue, with only localized showers last week.
South central and southeast Iowa continue to be the driest part of the state, with over 80-percent of topsoil moisture rated short to very short.
