Daylight Saving Time is the worst kind of "saving" -- it comes back with no interest, and in the meantime we pay for the "privilege" of the saving with extra car accidents, heart attacks, and workplace injuries as people make the shift to the new time. It's time to end it, and possibly to switch to a two-time-zone nation.

I'm really spooked by the fact we haven't been able to move the needle on productivity growth in the last three years. Productivity grew by 0.5% in 2011, 1.5% in 2012, and 0.5% in 2013. With a shrinking workforce and no growth in hours worked, that's a recipe for economic stagnation. It's a hazard that people aren't recognizing much, and one that could do us a lot of harm.
