Paula Dierenfeld, mayor of Johnston, visited us this morning just after the 8:30 news to tell us about a special event this Saturday...Kites On The Green. The Johnston Commons (Merle Hay Road and Northglenn Drive, next to the Johnston Library) will be the site. Contestants should check in between 1 and 2PM. Kite contests begin at 2:30 with a mass ascension at 4:30PM. Celebrity bol races from 4:30-5:00PM...and music by Wade Krieg and Ron Kennebeck from 5:30 to 7:30PM.
