Van and Bonnie in the Morning

No Balloon Flight Today (Bonnie's blog 7/21/14)

Posted July 21st, 2014 @ 9:46am

Well, we were supposed to have the hot air balloon flight over Des Moines today, but the winds aloft were too strong.  Tomorrow morning is supposed to be worse than today.   We are now looking at Thursday morning for the launch.  Nick will tell you when and where he lands for your chance to win your own hot air balloon ride during the National Balloon Classic in Indianola starting this Friday!  Since we will be out of the studio on Friday morning, we will be asking for that information on the same day as the flight over Des Moines.  Should the weather not be good on Thursday, we will just give away the flights by giving you a fictitious time and place.  Get more information about the Classic online at www.nationalballoonclassic.com.

Tomorrow on Van & Bonnie, we'll have Knoxville Raceway tickets to give away for this weekend.

Van and I have a very busy schedule this week....lots of chances to meet you!  Tomorrow at 2PM and 7PM, it's the Panama Canal Cruise travel shows for the cruise on January 13-25, 2015.  Each attendee receives a $100.00 ($200.00 per couple) gift certificate to use towards a Holiday Vacations trip!  Thursday from 3-6PM we'll be broadcasting live from G&L Clothing, 1801 Ingersoll, for their huge summer tent sale....lots of super bargains!  Friday morning is our Van & Bonnie Ice Cream Party!  Come out to the Wildwood Lodge on University Ave. just off I-80/35 on the west side of town between 5 and 9AM for free homemade ice cream courtesy of "I Scream".   Then come into the lobby and try a bite of our specialty ice creams made by listeners trying to win an overnight stay at the Wildwood Lodge and dinner for two at the Machine Shed Restaurant.  Then on Saturday from 9AM-Noon, we'll be broadcasting live from the Blank Park Zoo for their big Butterfly Festival....lots of fun things for the kids from 10AM-2PM!

Other than that, nothing is going on!!!

Have a great day!

Bonnie
