Terry Rich of the Iowa Lottery was my co-host this morning and he announced that today could possibly be the day that the $2,000,000.00 lottery winner that purchased a ticket in Decorah, may be coming forward to claim their prize! He wore a handsome new gray suit to the show today...hoping to make it his new "lucky suit"...along with a power purple tie! I told him he didn't need to dress-up so much for radio, but he has an appointment with the Governor today. I hope you haad a chance to tune in to hear all the interesting ins and outs of the Iowa Lottery and all the security involved with the drawings.
David Burrier of Hope Ministries provided our "Van & onnie Eat Other People's Meals" meal this morning. His chef, Pat Barnes, and a Hope Ministries volunteer, Laura Williams also joined us in the studio. They brought in breakfast casseroles...an "ultimate casserole", a "french toast casserole" and "cheesy potato casserole". They were all fabulous! Hope Ministries supplies meals three times a day, 365 days of the year to the homeless. They also house the homeless. David said in the first 6 months of 2013, the need is up 17% over 2012! They rely soley on the generosity of volunteers and donations. They do not accept State or Federal money. If you can help by volunteering, call Community Relations at 515-265-7272 or go to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have food to donate, just drop it off anytime between 6AM and 6PM at the Bethel Mission, 1310 6th Avenue.
