Iowa State University’s president is being considered for the top job at Auburn University in Alabama.
An Alabama newspaper (The Opelika-Auburn News) reports Steven Leath’s experience in agriculture and leadership could make him an attractive pick for the school.
The Auburn University Board of Trustees vote Monday at 10:30 a.m.
Leath became ISU's 15th president in 2012.
Leath's tenure at Iowa state has been controversial in recent months. A Board of Regents audit last year found Leath used university planes for appointments and trips out of state.
Leath has reimbursed the university for the flights.
In February, the Story County Attorney declined to file charges against Leath, saying there was no probable cause that Leath violated Iowa law.
