FORT DODGE, Iowa - An explosion that destroyed a house two weeks ago in Fort Dodge was likely ignited by a refrigerator that kicked on.
The Fort Dodge Messenger says investigators believe natural gas leaked into the house through the soil, and exploded when a refrigerator compressor turned on.
Four people were in the house. Two got out without injuries. Two others were asleep, and awakened by the explosion. Both had minor burns.
