Long time coming...Northey sworn in for USDA Position

Over 600 folks gathering at the Iowa State Fairgrounds on Tuesday night to see USDA Secretary Sonny Purdue swear in Bill Northey to the USDA Undersecretary for Farm Production and Conservation:

Purdue praising Bill's patience, perserverence and class during the hold-up of his nomination and saying that shows his true character.  Surrounded by his parents, wife, children and grandchildren, Bill says he still can't believe he's leaving "the best job in the world" as Iowa Ag Secretary but the opportunity to work at USDA is just too good to pass up:

New Iowa Ag Secretary Mike Naig kicking things off with the FFA State Officers leading the Pledge of Allegiance:

It was a packed house, with industry leaders as well as many state legislators and Governor Reynolds also in attendance.

Bill wrapping this up by sincerely thanking his family for their help and support, and the "many, many people who have helped along the way."  Much more coverage on today's Big Show.
