UPDATE: Animal Rescue League of Iowa crews have taken more than 30-cats from a home in the 800 block of East Morton in Des Moines. Crews started the process Wednesday and continued Thursday.

(DES MOINES, Iowa) An east Des Moines homeowner will likely face charges, after animal control officers discovered dozens of cats, in a home filled with feces.
Police and animal control officers were called Wednesday to a home in the 800 block of East Morton Avenue, because of a strong odor.
Inside the home, they found numerous cats, some dead, and six inches of feces covering the floor.
Crews removed at least 20-cats.
