It was a yucky problem: staff and coaches at a New Jersey high school were finding human feces on or near the area of the high school track and football field on a daily basis.
They complained to the School Resource Officer. The officer and school staff set up surveillance.
They caught the perpetrator literally with his pants down.
Thomas Tramaglini has been charged with with lewdness (he literally was caught with HIS PANTS DOWN), littering and defecating in public.
Police officers are believed to have observed him evacuating his bowels before confronting him as he began running at the school track.
The bad news for local taxpayers: Tramaglini has requested a PAID leave of absence from his $150,000 a year job and the school board has granted it. The board says they actually can't take any official action against him at this time because he has not been convicted for any charges.
The fact Mr Tramaglini has not been convicted of any crime has not stopped him being variously dubbed the "Pooperintendent", the "poopetrator" and the "Mad Crapper" online.
He appears in municipal court next week to actually face the charges. Meanwhile, enjoy his memorable mug shot below. He sure looks as if he wants you to "butt out" of his business.
