BELLE PLAINE, Iowa - The woman and little boy hit and killed by a train on May 4, 2018 in Belle Plaine were a murder-suicide, say Benton County Sheriff's Department investigators.
A surveillance video obtained by investigators shows 36-year-old Teresa Gerleman and her eight year old son Henry approaching the tracks in Belle Plaine May 4, and as the train arrived, the mother is seen pulling her son into the path of the train with her.
The case is being classified by police as a murder-suicide, reports KCRG TV 9.
