DES MOINES, Iowa - We had a record-setting May in Des Moines, the hottest May ever. The previous record was set in 1934. Many other Iowa cities had one of the top five hottest Mays.
Meterologist Craig Cougil with the National Weather Service says we will likely continue to see hotter than usual temperatures for at least the first two to three weeks of June.

Western Iowa is more likely to get severe storms as they move into Iowa from the west. The best chance of severe weather is from 2:00 a.m. to about 7:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
The Des Moines area is in an area with a marginal risk of severe storms.
