DES MOINES, Iowa- A former Redfield man has been sentenced to more than 17-years in prison, in U.S. District Court in Des Moines, on drug and weapons charges.
Authorities say 53-year-old David Lister sold drugs to under-cover officers in August of 2016. A search warrant was served at his residence, which yielded 1.5 pounds of methamphetamine in Lister's safe, along with $2,000 in cash. Lister admitted the cash was from drug sales.
Lister agreed to search of a nearby storage facility, which resulted in the seizure of numerous firearms. Lister admitted being a multi-pound methamphetamine dealer, indicating that he typically would purchase two pounds of meth for $20,000 from his supplier every two weeks, and distribute the drugs to at least a dozen people in the Redfield area.
Lister also said firearms in the storage unit were received in trade for methamphetamine.
The case was investigated by the Des Moines Police Department, and the case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.
