Des Moines police arrested a man who they say was high on marijuana while driving down I-235 with three kids in the back of his pickup truck.
Police spotted the truck around 11pm Monday night. Officers pulled the driver over and say they could smell marijuana.
45-year-old Jamie Cole told police he had smoked marijuana an hour before the traffic stop. Police searched his truck and found a container with a leafy green substance in it, along with a glass pipe. They also found a two-foot-long machete.
Cole's charged with three counts of child endangerments, operating while intoxicated, drug possession and carrying weapons while intoxicated.
The children were picked up by a family member and there's a no contact order in place for Cole.
