Latino Heritage Festival highlights music, food...and jobs

Enterainment, food and...jobs.

Those are three items being shared this weekend at the Western Gateway Park in downtown Des Moines during the Latino Heritage Festival.

Spokesman Joe Gonzalez says in addition to entertainment and food from many Latin American countries, there will be an emphasis on education and jobs.

Gonzales says the festival this year will feature an "Empowerment Zone", complete with information on jobs that are unfilled and the education needed to get them.

The Latino Heritage Festival runs Saturday until 11pm and Sunday from 10am until 6pm.  Admission is $5 for adults, $1 for children.
