DES MOINES, Iowa- Two people are charged with attempted murder after a northeast Des Moines shooting.
Des Moines Police say the incident happened yesterday (Tuesday) after 34-year-old Laura Dickey told her neighbor, 41-year-old Eleazar Villanova, she was upset about an argument with her ex-boyfriend. Police say Dickey drove to Villanova to an apartment building on East Seneca, where they saw the ex-boyfriend walking outside.
Police say Villanova jumped out of the car and began chasing him while firing a gun at him.
The victim was not hurt, but a parked truck was damaged. Officers later arrested Dickey and Villanova. Police say they saw Villanova toss a weapon into some weeds before they arrested him.
The two are in the Polk County Jail. Villanova is also charged with felon in possession of a firearm and second- degree harassment.
