Des Moines' stinky corpse flower on track to bloom again

DES MOINES, Iowa-  A foul smelling plant, at the Des Moines Botanical Garden is active again after being dormant since it last produced a stinky bloom, in 2017.

Last year the rare corpse flower, named "Carrie" attracted big crowds of people wanting a "whiff" of this unusual flower, which  some say smells like putrid garbage, or worse.   Experts say it's recently produced a leaf, which looks like a small tree.  That'll last about a year, then die, and produce another big leaf, repeating the process until it's time again for another "flower."
