DES MOINES, Iowa – A Clive man is in jail as police say he kidnapped his niece Thursday in Des Moines, but they don't know why.
Des Moines police say 29-year-old James Yeah Davies took the 20-month old baby from his parents' house in the 28-hundred block of Boston Avenue late Thursday afternoon.
The parents called police immediately and officers caught up with Davies at 30th and Hickman - but the child wasn't with him anymore.
Police say the child changed hands at least three times before being returned to the grandparents unharmed.
Davies is being held in the Polk County Jail.
