Man arrested for making bomb in sushi restaurant

DES MOINES, Iowa - Des Moines police say a man went to a sushi restaurant and made a bomb on Tuesday night. 

Police say 40-year-old Ivory Washington called in around 6:40 pm saying he had made a bomb while sitting at Akebono 215, in downtown Des Moines.

The bomb squad confirms the bomb was real.

Washington was arrested without incident and he's being held on $10-thousand dollars bond. He's charged with possession of explosive or incendiary material with intent. 

More information about the case is expected to be released later Wednesday.
