DES MOINES, Iowa - A long, cold winter has many Iowans looking to fly somewhere for Spring break.
Some travel agents recommend flying out of a different state to save money, but others say you can find airfare bargains right out of Des Moines International Airport.
No matter which direction you're going, you'll save more money by booking early and by being flexible with travel dates.
But its not the same for hotels.
"If you're flexible and if you can be spontaneous you can get rewarded with fantastic deals. Hotels work opposite of flights so the more you wait, the more you save,” Hoteltonight’s Sam Shank tells WHO Channel 13.
Weather forecasters are calling for lower-than-normal temperatures for at least the first week of March.
