OSKALOOSA, Iowa - The driver of a garbage truck near Oskaloosa got crushed by the compactor mechanism.
The Mahaska County Sheriff's Office says 39-year-old Robert Evans of Oskaloosa stopped the garbage truck he was driving on a rural road on Tuesday morning.
Evans climbed up on top of the cab, but then got stuck in the compactor and was crushed.
Deputies found him dead at the scene and an autopsy results are pending.
