Getting up in the morning is never easy, but sometimes a good tune is all you need to get you out of bed and ready for your day. Well, Oprah Winfrey’s “O” magazine has just come out with their list of the 21 best songs to wake you up each and every morning, and the result is...mostly annoying.
Look, I get that the list is from "O" magazine so it's going to be mostly "girly" in nature - but these songs tend to be of the ilk of "the world wants to beat me down but I am stronger than that and I WILL NOT CRY!"
C'mon. I surround myself with strong women. Overcoming whining is not the goal - it's to DOMINATE.
Topping the list is Sara Bareillis’ “Brave,” which the mag says will help you, “believe you can conquer anything," but really just burdens your brain with a tune that was annoying the second time you hear it.
Bill Withers’ “Lovely Day” coming in second and Beyoncé’s “Run The World (Girls)” in third - which is not really a song but a cool chant that someone created. When they couldn't come up with a catchy melody, that just said, "never mind - it's Beyonce, and she'll shout it over and over and everyone will think it's Grammy-worthy."
“O” Magazine’s Top Ten Songs To Wake Up To
“Brave” – Sara Bareillis
“Lovely Day” – Bill Withers
“Run The World (Girls)” – Beyoncé
“Beautiful” – Christina Aguilera
“The Cure” – Lady Gaga
“I Smile” – Kirk Franklin
“A Thousand Miles” – Vanessa Carlton
“Stronger” – Kanye West
“Soak up the Sun” – Sheryl Crow

The ONE song that I'd recommend early in the morning that's on this list is "Stronger" by Kanye West. Otherwise, forget this list and crank up:
War Machine - KISS
Uncomfortable - Halestorm
Partytown - Glenn Frey
Knock 'Em Dead, Kid - Motley Crue
Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle) - Limp Bizkit
Runnin' With The Devil - Van Halen

NOW...head into your day.
