DES MOINES-- Iowa farmers made the most of last week's mostly nice weather. This week's Iowa Department of Agriculture crop report says 21 percent of corn and three percent of soybeans are in the ground--slightly ahead of last year. Favorable weather early in the week gave farmers about four-and-half field days. Weekend rain and snow brought that work to a halt. The Ag department isn't optimistic about this week, with rain forecast across the state through at least Wednesday, with heavy rain and flooding possible in southeast Iowa.
