Tinder Launches "Festival Mode" To Help People U Kno What

I hope you enjoyed my conversation with Jenn Styers of LoveJenn.com about the new Facebook feature that will allow you to identify a handful of friends as "secret crushes." If one of THOSE friends identifies YOU as a secret crush, you are told that you have a match.

As I told Jenn, I am a happily married guy but fascinated by how technology is impacting the dating scene for both good AND bad. Jenn and I talked about how identifying that secret crush from grade school as an adult probably wouldn't lead to a lifetime relationship and might actually ruin a friendship.

And, of course, if you are not interested in a RELATIONSHIP - there's Tinder.

Most folks go to music festivals to enjoy countless hours of great music, but there are probably plenty out there secretly hoping they may meet someone cute and get a little lucky. Well, Tinder is about to make that a little easier.

The hookup app has just launched what they’re calling Festival Mode, which allows users to add a badge to their profile revealing the music festivals they plan to attend. The badges will roll out about three weeks before a festival, which means before the big weekend, users will be able to match and chat with others going to the same fest.

While Coachella may be over already, the app launched yesterday, and will be in full effect in time for such fests as Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) Las Vegas, Governors Ball, Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, Faster Horses, Hangout Fest, All Points East, Firefly, the UK’s British Summer Time and more.

By the way, congratulations if you got the reference in the headline. Iowa's own Senator Charles Grassley caused a nation to explode into laughter when he used his patented Twitter-speak (he loves to abbreviate) to tell people he was heading to a local Dairy Queen for "u kno what."
