I live in downtown Des Moines and, quite frankly, have gotten spoiled. Boo and I eat regularly at the many great locally-owned restaurants and almost never eat fast food. Still, when I am on the road, my go-to is an old stand-by and I am NOT alone.
When it comes to fast food, you can’t beat McDonald’s, at least according to a new survey. More than 2,000 adults who eat at fast-casual restaurants at least once a month were asked about their favorites and Mickey D’s came out on top by a wide margin in several categories, including value and speed of service. Wendy’s won the second place spot, followed by Burger King in third.
In the survey from UBS Evidence Lab, the top reasons people gave for choosing the Golden Arches are good value, promotions, and improved food. Diners weren’t as excited about new beverage options and the cleanliness and atmosphere of the restaurants.
Other fast food spots that landed in the top of the survey were Subway at number four, Taco Bell in fifth, followed by KFC.
I am a little surprised at Taco Bell's fifth place finish - but remember, this is a nationwide survey. I think Taco Bell is VERY popular among Iowans. What do you think?
