PELLA, Iowa -- A private college in Pella is adding women's triathlon to it's sports lineup.
"It's very similar to golf in that you're out there by yourself, competing by yourself," says Central College Athletic Director Eric Van Kley.
A triathlon includes a swim, bike ride, and run. Women will then get a total score depending on how they did in each event.
Central will be adding women's triathlon as a club sport this year, and a varsity sport next year.
"I've always done the typical volleyball, basketball, track... but doing a triathlon is something I've always wanted to do," says Central College student Aanna Roslien.
Central becomes the 31st school in the country, and second in Iowa to offer women's triathlon. Coe College in Cedar Rapids also offers the sport.
