SPRINGFIELD, Illinois - Four months from now, Illinois could spring forward and never spring back.
KWQC-TV6 reports the Illinois Senate voted 44 to 2 to pass a bill that would make Daylight Saving Time permanent.
If the bill is passed by the state house, year-round Daylight Saving Time would be set to begin in March 2020, at which point Illinois residents would never again need to set clocks twice a year.
One other factor if the legislation passes: Quad Cities residents could be separated by an hour from one side of the river to the other.
