OMAHA/COUNCIL BLUFFS - A person of interest is in custody in connection to the murder of 37 year old Joseph Hellman last January.
Council Bluffs Police contacted Omaha Police on February 21, 2019. At that time Hellman was reported missing and last seen in Omaha. .
During the missing person investigation, it was determined that the circumstances around Hellman’s disappearance were suspicious and foul play was involved.
The investigation then revealed that Hellman was the victim of a murder on January 29, 2019. His body has still not been located.
Police say the person of interest is in custody on an unrelated charge and a name has not been released.
