DES MOINES, Iowa -- It's going to cost more to get into the Iowa State Fair this year.
Tickets at the gate are going up two bucks--$14 dollars for adults, $8 for kids.
"We always look at what's new, different and exciting that we can bring here. How can we make our historic fairgrounds better? We've also looked at how we can make safer--improving some of our gates" says Iowa State Fair spokesperson Mindy Williamson.
She says advance tickets are only going up a buck--$9 for adults, $5 for kids.
"We don't take any increases lightly. That's why you haven't seen an increase in that advance admission price since 2013. The gate price hasn't been increased since 2016" Williamson says
The 2020 Iowa State Fair is August 13th through the 23rd.
