The man hit by a dump truck in downtown Des Moines last week is identified.
Police say 50-year-old Michael Monkmeier of Mitchellville was hit last Wednesday near 8th Street and Grand Avenue.
Monkmeier is still in the hospital in critical condition.
Police say he was hit by 71-year-old Jerry Bemer of Cedar Rapids.
