DES MOINES, Iowa -- Des Moines Police are looking for a man in connection with a hit-and-run that left a woman seriously hurt.
Police have issued a material witness warrant for Isaias Flores-Morales, 41, of Des Moines.
Stephanie Markert, 71, was hit by a car as she crossed a street in 1200 block of 33rd Street Thursday night.
Police say she was hit by an SUV that was abandoned nearby. Witnesses say a male driver who was in the SUV then drove away from the scene in a Maroon Chrysler Town and Country minivan.
Investigators think Flores-Morales may know something about that hit-and-run. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call Des Moines Police.
Markert remains in critical condition at Mercy One Medical Center.
