Two Council Bluffs Students Accused Of Threatening School Shooting

Two Council Bluffs high school students are facing charges for threatening a school shooting.

On Sunday Council Bluffs Police say they received information of a threat to commit a mass shooting at Lewis Central High School.

During the investigation it was determined that several students who attend the school had discussed how a mass shooting incident could occur at the school.

Two of the students were taken into custody and are charged with Threat of Terrorism, which is a felony.

Council Bluffs Police say they don't believe the threats are credible because the teens don't have the means to carry them out.

Police stress that Lewis Central High School will be safe for students to attend on Monday. Officers will be present at the school to ensure the safety of students.
