DES MOINES, Iowa - Four inmates were injured in a crash this morning near the east mixmaster south of Ankeny.
A prisoner transport van struck one of two vehicles already invoved in a crash at around 8:15 on Interstate 80/35.
The Iowa State Patrol says there were five people inside the prisoner transport van, and four were taken to local hospitals with minor injuries.
Two prison guards were not injured. Two people from the previous crash were also not injured.
