DES MOINES, Iowa -- A Drake University political scientist says former Vice President Joe Biden's victories in 10 of 14 Super Tuesday Democratic Presidential states proves a old adage in politics.
"A week is a long time in politics, but what we've seen is another example of the truth in that phrase. We're in a different world from where we were a week ago" says Professor Dennis Goldford.
He says Biden's success Tuesday comes in large part to the momentum his campaign built after winning last Saturday's South Carolina primary.
Goldford also says the tone is probably set for the rest of the 2020 race to the Democratic nomination.
"We're looking most likely at a two-person race--very clearly (it's) Bernie Sanders on the progressive side, Biden on the more centrist-liberal side" he says.
Goldford says there's still a long way to go before the nomination is won with nearly 60 percent of the party's delegates still in play.
