384 New Cases of COVID-19 in Iowa, 6 Deaths

DES MOINES,Iowa - The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) reports 384 new cases of COVID-19/coronavirus as of Sunday, a drop from two consecutive days of daily high marks for the state - 521 Friday and 648 Saturday.

Six new deaths from the virus are also reported as of Sunday, bringing the state's total to 118. Five deaths were reported Saturday after there were 11 Friday.

Iowa now has a total of 5,476 positive cases to go along with 1,356 new negative tests for a total of 30,614 negative tests to date.

The state says the number of cases will continue to grow as Test Iowa sites open and additional surveillance testing of large businesses and nursing home staff continues.  

The number of people hospitalized is currently 286, and 1,900 Iowans have recovered.

The state says 1 in 87 Iowans have been tested, up from 1 in 91 Saturday.

  • Black Hawk County, 1 middle-age adult (41-60 years) 
  • Clinton County, 1 elderly adult (81+)   
  • Des Moines County, 1 older adult (61-80 years)  
  • Johnson County, 1 adult (18-40 years), 1 elderly adult (81+)    

Linn County, 1 elderly adult (81+)
