DES MOINES, Iowa - A fire at an apartment building in downtown Des Moines was contained by fire crews Sunday evening.
Emergency personnel responded to a call in the 600 block of Park Street around 6:30 p.m. The fire was in a top floor of the high rise apartment building.
There was water and smoke damage to an apartment unit on the 14th floor, The building's sprinkler system activated to put out the fire.
