Another New Daily High in Iowa COVID-19 Cases Reported

DES MOINES, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) is reporting another single day high for COVID-19/coronavirus with 757, 18 more than the 739 reported Friday.

Governor Reynolds stated Friday the the count would rise over the weekend because the State Hygienic Lab is finishing the processing of a high volume of tests.

Eighty-seven percent of the new positive cases Saturday are in the 22 counties where restrictions remain in place, with 493 of them from Black Hawk, Dallas, Polk and Woodbury counties.

Five new deaths also being also reported, while 353 people are currently hospitalized, and 3,156 Iowans have recovered. One in 63 Iowans have been tested as of Saturday.

There have been a total of 8,641 positive cases, and an additional 3,377 negative tests for a total of 41,085 negative tests to date.

The five new deaths were reported in the following counties:

  • Linn County, 2 older adults (61-80 years) 
  • Polk County , 1 older adult (61-80 years)
  • Tama County, 1 older adult (61-80 years)

Woodbury County, 1 older adult (61-80 years)
