12 New COVID-19 Deaths in Iowa, 386 new cases

DES MOINES, Iowa - The state's reporting 386 new cases of COVID-19/coronavirus and 12 new deaths as of Thursday.

The total number of positive case is now 13,675, while there have been 318 deaths in Iowa due to the virus.

There have been 89,294 COVID-19 tests conducted in Iowa.

There were 3,575 new tests reported, down from a daily high mark of 4,431 on Wednesday, and still short of Governor Kim Reynolds goal of 5,000 per day with the Test Iowa program in place

The 12 new deaths is short of a daily reported high mark of 19. There were 18 deaths reported Wednesday, and 17 Thursday.

The rate of positive tests has inched down from 15.5 percent Wednesday to 15.3 percent Thursday. The state reports that 1-in-35 Iowans has been tested and 1-in-229 has tested positive.

There are 405 people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Iowa, with 134 patients in ICU. A total of 93 people are on ventilators.

There have been 6,231 COVID-19 recoveries in Iowa, an increase from 5,954 Wednesday. The state's recovery rate is almost 46 percent.

The positive COVID-19 cases reported by the health department represent diagnosed.
