DES MOINES, Iowa -- Police are identifying a Des Moines man fatally shot Saturday morning.
Police say Robert Lee Trey Freeman, 19, was found in the 1400 block of Dean Avenue just before 8:30 a.m. as officers investigated a report of gunfire in the area.
Officers started lifesaving measures, including CPR, before Freeman was taken to MercyOne Medical Center where he died a short time later.
Des Moines Police Department detectives are investigating his death as a homicide.
It's the city's 11th murder of 2020.
