Iowa - Former Congressman David Young will compete for his former seat again in the 2020 general election.
On Tuesday Young defeated Bill Schafer in the Republican primary in Iowa’s third congressional district by a margin of 70 percent to 30 percent. Young represented the district from 2015-2019. He was defeated by Cindy Axne in 2018.
Axne ran unopposed in Tuesday's Democratic primary. She notably won only one county in the 2018, Polk, which is by far the most populous county in the state.
