BEDFORD, Iowa - A man faces murder charges after a woman was found dead at a home in Bedford, Iowa.
Taylor County deputies were called to a house at 108 Pearl Street on a 911 call reporting a death shortly before 11 pm Saturday.
There, they found 62-year-old Penny Sue Godfirnon had been assaulted with a knife. She was later pronounced dead.
Thirty-two year-old Christian May was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder and Felony Willful Injury. May was taken to the Taylor County Jail.
The Taylor County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
