WAUKEE, Iowa - A man faces sex abuse charges after police say he raped a 14-year-old girl, leading to her becoming pregnant.
Twenty-six year-old Khalid Jeremiah Crosbie is accused in sexually abusing the 14-year-old between July 2019 and August 2019, with the victim giving birth in April.
Waukee Police conducted an investigation after the child was born, and a DNA search warrant revealed a 99.9 percent probability that Crosby was the baby's father.
The minor told police she had not been sexually active before or during the time of the assault.
Crosbie has been charged with third-degree sex abuse.
He was released from the Polk County Jail and has an initial court appearance will be at 8 a.m. on July 15 at the Polk County Court building.
