IOWA - Many school districts across Iowa are adjusting after Governor Kim Reynolds announced that schools can't provide more than half their instructions through remote learning.
Numerous districts had already decided hold classes exclusively online or do a combination of on-site and online learning.
Des Moines, the state's largest district, had announced students would attend in-person classes one-to-two days a week, with the rest online. Iowa City had intended to hold classes exclusively online to start the school year.
Davenport School District Superintendent Robert Kobylski expressed concern that even having a quarter of students at school wouldn't eliminate risks.
At least one year-round elementary school had planned to start next Thursday with online only classes out of COVID-10 concerns.
