IOWA CITY, Iowa - Iowa will play the nation's top ranked team in a nationally televised college basketball game in December.
The Hawkeye face the Gonzaga Bulldogs in a matchup at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Gonzaga is the unofficial No.1 team in the country, while Iowa is No. 5. Iowa's Luka Garza is back as the preseason favorite to win Big Ten and national Player of the Year.
Gonzaga finished the 2019-20 season ranked second in the country, posting a 31-2 record.
The teams will play Saturday, December 19th at 11 a.m. on CBS-TV.
A news release from the Iowa Athletic Department said the remainder of its basketball team's 2020-21 schedule will be announced at a later date.
