POLK COUNTY, Iowa - A Southeast Polk High School teacher is facing sexual abuse and exploitation charges.
Criminal complaints in the case say 39 year-old Abraham Smith sexually abused a 15 year-old female student twice earlier in October. The victim told police one instance took place at Yellow Banks County Park, and the other happened at her Altoona home.
The Southeast Polk School District's website says Smith is a high school science teacher.
Smith was booked into the Polk County Jail this morning.
