Iowa High School Football Semi-Finals and Finals to Have Limited Attendance

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - Attendance is being limited at the upcoming Iowa High School Football semi-finals and finals out of COVID-19 concerns.

The 18 games at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls will be capped at 2,400 spectators per game or around 15 percent capacity.

Other measures being taken include mandatory masks and the limiting of groups to six people that'll be social distanced.

The adjustments are being made because of the COVID-19 surge and Governor Kim Reynolds proclamation this week for limits at sporting events.

The semi-final playoffs kick of Friday with four games

Walk-up tickets will no longer be available for any of the semifinals (Nov. 12-14) or finals (Nov. 19-20).

The adjustments are being put in place following discussions between the University of Northern Iowa, Black Hawk County Health Department, State of Iowa officials, and the Iowa High School Athletic Association.

“The UNI-Dome is a great venue that has been the setting for many memorable playoff games over the years and we’re pleased this tradition will safely continue,” said IHSAA executive director Tom Keating. “While we would love to welcome as many spectators as want to attend, these steps announced today will help keep everyone safe.”
