DES MOINES, Iowa - An Urbandale man is dead from a crash during this [[ Saturday ]] morning's snow storm in Des Moines.
Police say an officer witnessed a car running off the roadway and stricking a tree in the 1600 block of SE 14th Street at about 5:45.
The 65-year-old man driving the car was the only occupant, and police say his airbags did not deploy.. He was found not to have a pulse.
Des Moines Fire Department rescue personnel continued CPR while transporting the driver to MercyOne – Des Moines. Lifesaving efforts continued at the hospital.
The man was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Des Moines Police continue to investigate the crash, which closed a portion of SE 14th Street for more than an hour.
